PRESS KIT
welcome to press kit, a faux celebrity community. more than anything, we want to provide a home that will encourage creativity and allow dynamic characters to flourish. keep in mind the rp basics: keep drama ic, don't harass others, and be respectful with how you deal with controversial subjects. remember that being active and welcoming new members is essential for the health of any community. we rely on you to keep press kit thriving!

setting up
to apply, put together a journal for your character. ic or ooc usernames are both permitted. your journal must be cleared of other communities and journals. you will need a friends only and screened bio posts, both backdated. in your character's bio, include basic information about your character, including their credits, age, hometown, and a bit about their personality and backstory. we do not have a word requirement for the biography but encourage you to include enough that other members can get a basic sense of your character.

although we hope you will enjoy building organic connections in-game, we also encourage posting in pbads or our storylines subcomm, airbrush, for lines.

credits
we are a single-credit community. your character will have the entire career of a real-life celebrity, although you are expected to develop a personality and backstory that is distinct from their credit counterpart's. we operate with the five year rule, meaning that your character's age must be within five years of their pb's and their credits'. anyone with a wikipedia or imdb page is allowed, as are nepo babies without specific credits of their own.

whitewashing will not be permitted under any circumstances. if you have any questions about credits, feel free to ask in the dropbox prior to applying.

activity
at press kit, we want to balance having a laid-back environment with encouraging activity. with this in mind, our monthly activity requirements are as follows:

  1. when you are first added, you have 72 hours to post an introduction in our ic subcomm, overexpose.
  2. an update that you post on the friends page. this may take many forms, including social media updates, narratives, ffas, moodboards with some text, playlists, etc. if the update has comments enabled, you must respond to a majority of the comments you receive in order for it to count. at least every other update must have comments enabled.
  3. activity in the form of six public comment threads with at least four replies each on the friends page or six posts in pbads advertising for and engaging with potential members. replying to posts in airbrush will not count toward this activity but is strongly encouraged!
  4. updating your friends list at least once every ten days. if your list is out of date, you may be eligible for override or removal.
while we will keep track of introductions, links for your monthly update and activity must be submitted to the activity drop-off post by the end of the month. extensions and hiatuses will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

note: if you are added in the second half of the month, your intro will count as one of your updates for the month (replacing #2 or #3 above). if you are added in the last five days of the month, your intro will count as both of your updates for the month (replacing #2 and #3 above).

most importantly
have fun!
